CK IANI (CK International Animation Workshop)

As of June 2026, Chungkang Animation School is hosting its third Global Animation Workshop, CKIANI.

More than 20 students from all over the world have come here to learn more about animation,

with a particular focus on character animation.

Thanks to Professor Mike’s extensive expertise, both international

and Korean students will be able to improve their animation skills and

expand their knowledge of the field in just one month.

From June 1 to June 26, lectures covering various aspects of animation are held every day.

Attendance is free for anyone interested.

After the official lecture, students are invited to participate in group discussions

where they can share their thoughts and opinions on the topic.

During the monthlong workshop, participants are required to complete only two assignments.

The first involves developing a character and animating a scene featuring that character in an established environment.

This year’s theme is “A Day at the Fishing Harbor.” The second assignment is similar, but this time students must find a partner (or partners) and

work together to create a scene featuring their characters.

This helps young animators gain experience in collaborative projects and overcome the shyness that many creative individuals possess.

Participants are free to use any medium they are comfortable with – 2D animation, 3D animation, stop-motion,

or any other technique – as long as the final result is animated.

Not to brag, but the workshop’s alumni have had almost nothing but positive things to say about the program.

Last year, nearly 30 participants took their newly acquired knowledge back to their schools and workplaces.

They all remember the experience with fondness and gratitude.

We hope that the Chungkang Global Animation Workshop,

CKIANI, will continue for many years to come, connecting animators from all over the world.
